About Us
Welcome to woolInspires !
My name is Laure Faber, an art historian with a passion for wool, for the history of knitting, and
craftsmanship. My academic journey has led me through art and architecture history, which I still have the
great pleasure of teaching. It is however in natural fibers that I have found a creative expression, based
on feeling and touch.
Peacefulness, responsibility, mindfulness
Creating your own clothes with natural materials presents itself as a wonderful alternative to the frenzy of
fast fashion, overconsumption, and waste. It is a magical opportunity to forge an authentic connection with
your garments, to become aware of the distinction between their cost and their true value. Immersing
yourself in knitting, following the rhythm of stitches, gestures, and counting, allows you to appreciate this
precious "flow" in a world that whirls at a frenetic pace.
Yarn, what a pleasure !
For me, wool is much more than a material. It is an infinite palette of colors, textures, and a multitude of
techniques that allow me to create things, from the simplest to the most complex, with a natural energy. My
clients, curious and refined minds, not only appreciate the quality of my creations but also the warm and
personalized experience that I strive to offer them.
A pioneer in my field, I lead knitting classes and workshops, providing creative minds with the opportunity
to learn, connect with like-minded individuals, and express themselves. Here in Luxembourg, my position in
the community of knitting enthusiasts appears increasingly essential, and I am gradually expanding to an
international level.
My shop, if you can call it that, is where art meets conviviality. No stuffy store in the city center, but rather a
garage in a picturesque village. Beyond that, you'll find me actively participating in lively markets, hosting
special events and conducting lively classes. I am convinced that wholeheartedness, natural friendliness,
education and passion are the key to creating a true connection with my clients. Much like a spirited sheep,
I relish in the freedom to roam. My affinity for fresh air has sparked the creation of my renowned mobile
boutique. And as we usher in the new year of 2024, I'm currently in the throes of developing an exciting
new concept.
Shetland, Alpaga, Angora, Yak, Mohair, Cashmere …
Dive with me into the captivating world of my carefully selected yarns, unearthed from unexpected places,
where each thread carries a rich and unique story. I don't just see myself as a yarn curator; my aspiration is
to go beyond the fibers and become a source of inspiration, a passionate teacher and a ally in our shared
enthusiasm. My enchanting world of yarn extends from Luxembourg and far beyond, inviting everyone to
explore the artistic and warm wonders that wool can offer.
I am eager to share with you my passion for wool and the marvels it can create.
